Who we are

Mission & Vision

Mission & Vision

Doug Deussing, founder of Evidence Based Climbing, earned an undergraduate degree in Health at the University of Richmond then a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Virginia Commonwealth University.  He is an avid climber and passionate about bringing relevant research to climbers, in an accessible and easily digestible manner.  His specialty areas include: competition climbing research, climbing psychology, and climbing injuries.  Doug and his wife and three children reside in Greensboro, North Carolina.  He works as a physical therapist and spends his free time climbing at his local gym and researching. 

His special interest is to educate climbers, practitioners, and coaches  by providing succinct, applicable research article reviews.  He is a member of the IRCRA.
